About the Role
As an Actuarial Analyst, you will play a key role in providing high‑quality actuarial and analytical insight to support informed decision‑making across the business. Working within a high‑performing actuarial team, you’ll partner with a range of stakeholders to deliver timely analysis, reporting and modelling that enhances business performance and supports regulatory and operational requirements.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Supporting pricing, product design and portfolio performance analysis across HBF’s health insurance products
  • Producing regular reporting on product performance, including claims trends, margins and key drivers of experience
  • Delivering data-driven insights and clear recommendations to support product and pricing decisions
  • Supporting regulatory and governance requirements, including contribution to premium round and actuarial submissions
  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders across Product, Finance and Health Services to deliver timely and actionable analysis
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of data, models and reporting processes within the actuarial team
  • Participating in cross-functional initiatives and projects to support broader business objectives

This position is based in Perth on a permanent full-time basis.

About You
You are a naturally curious and analytical professional who enjoys turning data into meaningful insights. With strong technical capability and clear communication skills, you’re comfortable working in a collaborative environment and balancing multiple priorities to meet deadlines. You enjoy learning, improving processes and contributing to a high‑trust, high‑performance team culture.

Ideally, you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification or relevant experience in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving skills, with strong mathematical capability
  • Well‑developed communication skills and the ability to present recommendations clearly
  • Experience producing reports and managing competing deadlines
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a changing workload
  • A collaborative, professional approach and the ability to work effectively within a small, high‑performing team
